Great Nexus you'll like this!

I bought the original comic when it was first published and enjoyed it immensly. Years have passed and I had no idea where or if i still had the issues when I saw this on Amazon. I tried Volume 1 and welcomed back an old friend. Great writing with a unique look on the Super Hero, Mike Barron created a winner. Buy both volume 1 and 2 and you can read the whole story together. Not unlike watching a whole season of you're favorite TV show in one go.

Superior story and art in one package.

Nexus came along when all that was being printed was superheroes flying around, dragging their capes behind them and punching out bad guys. This guy goes farther than Superman or Batman would dare to go, though. He kills bad guys. But they have to be REALLY bad. Despots, dictators and genocidal rulers had better stop it if they don't want to meet Nexus. Young Horatio Hellpop (Not as sexy a name as Bruce Wayne) discovers his power and immediately kills his father. Sound like a downer? It's just the beginning of a life of pain, headaches, nightmares and killing while building a society under his protection and meeting the love of his life in reporter Sundra Peale. If you need a capsule description, think of NEXUS as a SPACE GHOST who kills. But even that doesn't do it justice. It may get you in the door, though. After that, you're on your own. Mike Baron and Steve Rude's seminal work evolves almost as you turn the pages and it just gets better. Science Fiction? Yes. Superhero. Mmmmm....maybe. A great read all the way through.

A Great Comic; A Sub-Par Presentation

The first Nexus Omnibus for Kindle is a worthy production, but even if the material contained in this second installment is just as well drawn and written by the Rude/Baron team, the production values are not as good. My main complaint has to do with the formatting. This time around, the art does not cover the allotted space, and even with the "panel" enhancement feature, the text is too small, and difficult to read. It should be re-done.
