A must read for everyone who is interested in understanding elite groups in different societies

This book is a must read for everyone who is interested in understanding elite groups in different societies, the book offers a general frame work to analyze the inner workings of the elite class across cultures . Although this book approaches the phenomena of elites from an anthropological view point yet it is very beneficial for students of Politics, Economics, Political Economy and Social sciences in general. Also, the authors do a good job in summarizing previous literature on the topic of elites. The case studies chosen by the authors are beneficial and explain the theoretical ideas very well. All in all it’s a well written book and gets straight to the “point” in condense and cohesive manner.
